仏教の運華化生に説かれているように、蓮は人間の死後の存在に見立てられてきました。 水の中からすーっと伸びて咲くの姿は不気味で恐ろしい一面もあります。 花の咲く姿は、まるで凝縮された生と死の象徴であり、太古より続く生命のダイナミズムであります。 花が咲くとき、生まれるものを表現した。

1994年京都府亀岡市生まれ。京都を拠点に活動。 Born in 1994 in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture. Based in Kyoto. 2018年三菱商事アート・ゲート・プログラム奨学生。2020年京都市立芸術大学 大学院美術研究科修士課程 絵画専攻 日本画 修了。日本の風土から生まれた絵画の再考・創作を志向している。コロナ禍に交通事故と病気による利き腕の手術、祖母の死を経験。入院中に見た雲の生成と消滅、医療に消費される豚を自覚したことで、豚生革や和紙に墨で点描した「はじまりもおわりもない」と題した絵画を制作。 2018 Mitsubishi Corporation Art Gate Program Scholarship recipient. In 2020, he completed the Master’s Program in Japanese Painting, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Kyoto City University of Arts. He explores revisiting and creating paintings born under the Japanese cultural climate. During the coronavirus pandemic, he experienced a traffic accident, surgery on his dominant arm due to illness, and the death of his grandmother. From the clouds he saw forming and disappearing while he was hospitalized, and becoming aware of the pigs consumed for medical purposes, he created paintings titled “no beginning and no end” using ink on pig rawhide and Japanese paper.
