Work Details
一輪挿しに飾られた花を丸状の貝(Pix-Shells)で描きました。背景の白は、黒とは対照に失われていき荒廃した美学を表し、一輪の花は隔絶されてしまったかのような状況の中で未だ失われていない人と人のつながりを表しています。
貝は白の中でも鋭く光り、赤い貝は、紅一点と言われるように、希少性の本質を表しています。

東京で活動する現代美術作家。 螺鈿とアクリルを組み合わせた作品が特徴。 Instagram @soyblanc_art 生きる事は美しい。 生物を元に作られた画材は数あれど、 生体そのものが輝きを放つ素材は、 螺鈿以外には存在しない。 貝の真珠層の7色に光る光沢は、人の隠された内面性を照らし、 闇と光の中でこそ、螺鈿はその輝きを増していく。 まるで苦難に晒された人間の輝き、生命力、そして強かさ、微かな希望を象徴するかのように。 Soyblancは、貝の真珠層ひとつひとつを、人の生命や希望として捉え、 平面上のシンボルやモチーフと生命との関係性を与える。 西洋画のキャンバスの中で、伝統的な素材を使う視点は、 彼のルーツである、オーストラリアのアボリジニアートや、 日本画家であった祖母の影響を受けている。
