Levitation Whale

I am working on depicting the value structure of Japanese aesthetics in modern society under the theme of transboundary nature.

We will be exhibiting at Gallery Gobangura in Gojo, Kyoto.

This is a picture of a whale floating on a canvas screen.
The black and other vertical stripes indicate the boundary between cultures and values, and I drew whales crossing those borders.

Acrylic paint and lacquer are used properly, and Japanese techniques such as silver foil baking and spiraling are incorporated.

The production period is approximately 1 month for each work.

Production is carried out in my home atelier.

As a Japanese artist born and raised overseas, I am interested in whether Western values and Japanese values have come to terms with those that have entered Japan after the war, and I would like to take a bird's-eye view of these values in my work.
