Prism at SENSE ISLAND
歴史を振り返ると猿島は要塞の島であり、 砲台を設け、東京湾を敵の侵入から守るための重要な軍事拠点であった。本インスタレーションでは、猿島の外形と旧砲台跡地を元に浜辺にプリズムを敷き詰めた。プリズムは灯台のような光に照らされることで美しい光を放つ。来場者は砂の上に腰掛け、光を操り、おもいおもいに砂浜を撫でることで無数の連鎖した光が砂浜を覆い尽くす。光は見ている人の心も撫でる様に、儚くついては消え、人々の心を照らす。遠くに見える対岸の横須賀の夜景共に、猿島に刻まれた記憶を美しい光によって浮かび上がらせる作品。
