Work Details
作品は現在、横須賀市猿島で開催されている「Sense Island -感覚の島- 暗闇の美術島」にて展示しています。スマートフォンを封印し、アートを通して夜の無人島 猿島を体感する唯一無二の芸術祭です。
この「１」と「0」の羅列を、Shift_JISという文字コードを用いてコンピューターに読み込むと、「猿の居ない猿島」という文章になる。
そう、猿島に猿は生息していない。
Shift_JISは過去の遺物になりつつある古い文字コードである。
現在主流になっているUnicodeの環境下に持ち出すと、文字化けなどを起こしてしまう。
猿島はかつては東京湾を守る、要塞の島であった。
現在は国指定史跡となっていて、島内からは小石ひとつ、葉一枚であっても持ち出してはいけない。
これらの数字はれんがを並べて造られている。
猿島の要塞跡はフランス積という技法で建造されている、国内ではとても希少なれんが建築物である。

I have been mainly creating and presenting three-dimensional works and installations.
I make artworks that cannot be created in any other location because they are strongly connected to the site, both physically and conceptually, utilizing the features of the space where the works are presented, the story of the place, and the surrounding environment. In most cases, I use different materials, production methods, and styles of expression to suit the space each time.
In addition to creatingmy own works, I am also actively involved in exploring personal and international connections between artists, such as organizing exchange gatherings for artists of all genres, and launching and managing art exchange projects between Japan and Mexico.
