searching for sound channels
In the deep sea, there is a layer called the sound channel, where sound—though it usually travels faster in water than in air—moves more slowly, yet can reach thousands of kilometers without fading.
I want to be someone who doesn’t miss those softly spoken, precious feelings sent from afar.
And I hope that my own feelings, too, will reach someone’s heart—perhaps years or even centuries from now.
I'm listening closely to places that are far away, and to myself.
Using a “homemade” technique that does not take a mold, the soil itself, which has been touched for a long time, is baked every hour.
For me, the production process itself may be “searching for sound channels.”

When I was a kid, I fantasized about what was happening in a closed book.
After the story
/Burniness picked up in the corner of the library
Things that are formless but useful are still with me, and sometimes they become small lights, flexible bags, and sturdy shoes, giving me a little strength to face and understand reality.
Terracotta is unglazed clay, and it is in an imperfect state to be called pottery.
Its soft, warm, and dry appearance is very similar to a weathering fantasy.
For me, production is like throwing away memories I can't remember. It is the task of superimposing the present on a someday imaginary landscape and giving it an outline.

型取り、量産をせず、長い時間触れ続けた粘土そのものを焼き上げる「直作り」という技法で制作しています。全て一点ものです。
制作には時間がかかりますが、非効率であるこの方法に表現として大きな意味を感じています。
