Is this work a tribute to Albers and Klee? The somewhat glossy curves of the monochrome orchid flower overlapping the square in the center of the painting are impressive. Correspondingly, the plant pattern seems to have been given a slightly lifelike feel. The composition of straight lines and curves, and above all, Robert's sense of color, make this an attractive work.

ロバート・プラットはは1974年ロンドン生まれ。2001年ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アート卒業。2009年京都市立芸術大学大学院博士課程を修了しています。その後21年までミシガン大学美術学部の准教授として勤務したのち、現在は九州産業大学芸術メデイア学部の教授として、福岡にて制作しています。
