I think this work is visually and colorfully memorable to the eye. I think it is a very playful work in this exhibition that incorporates Deleuze and Guattari's concept of ““Flickering Realms.” The basic motif is a Showa-era “erotic book” that he found when he renovated an old building, which he thought was used as insulation material. The crack-like blue areas inserted into the screen are depicted as representations of time and space, as is the decaying surface of the paper. Are erotic thoughts sealed deep within the screen?

ロバート・プラットはは1974年ロンドン生まれ。2001年ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アート卒業。2009年京都市立芸術大学大学院博士課程を修了しています。その後21年までミシガン大学美術学部の准教授として勤務したのち、現在は九州産業大学芸術メデイア学部の教授として、福岡にて制作しています。
