Work Details
The concept is “just there”
I've been drawing using this method since around 2012.
What is meant by the circle used in the expression is thought, emotion, light, sound, energy, atoms/molecules themselves, and for me, the work is something that goes beyond the concepts of time or space, and is “just there”.
“Being there” may be close to natural objects. I think that meaningful things are shaped by people's repeated thoughts on things, places, times, etc.
I think my work is different from that.
At first, I myself thought I had to draw something.
However, rather than when I decided to draw something, I felt that I could draw an inevitable work when I decided to draw anything.
There are words from people who watched my work that left an impression on me.
“It would be foolish to put it into words.
You can just watch it.” I thought this was the essence of my art.
I thought it would be fine if the work was just “there.”
Since then, I haven't painted with the original concrete image.
Instead of actually drawing on paper or exhibiting the work in a space, I express the images hidden within me as a work by showing it in a form that can actually be seen with the eye.
Therefore, when creating a work, I don't care about drawing drafts; I draw the feeling I felt at that moment in real time.
My emotion2022#15
This work was born to expand from the center.
The art materials used to create the work are mainly to create a background space with black or blue acrylic paint on watercolor paper attached to a wooden panel, and then paint over it by drawing countless circles with oil-based colored pencils or crayons.
I feel that the black and blue colors in the background are symbolic colors of the world that make up my own deep truth.
Maru also has a deep mentality that was born there. By using oil-based colored pencils on top of acrylic paint, depending on the viewing angle and lighting, it may look like a Japanese painting.
Also, depth is created in the color of the work, and depending on the lighting conditions, the circle may appear to float in 3D, making it an important tool for my expression.
The depth of color of my work looks completely different between when I actually see it and when I see it in images.
I just wanted to experience it.
