中庭に配置された3つの作品。玉石を川に見立てた《三途の川》がつなぐのは、京都の古寺で使用されていた梵鐘を用いた《平和の鐘》と、1990年代からオノが世界の各地で行ってきたプロジェクト《念願の木》です。川をまたいで鐘を撞き、願いを書いた短冊を木に吊るすよう観客を誘うことで、オノは、形のない人々の想いや行為自体を作品へと変えます。

Artist
Yoko Ono was born in Toyo in 1933 and after finishing her study in philosophy in Japan, she moved to New York in 1953 and became part of the city’s vibrant avant-garde activities. Since the 1960’s Ono has had many exhibitions and performances around the world, many of which are now historically well remembered for their contributions to the progress of art history. Ono’s artistic formats have varied from fine art, music, film, performance, and poetry and she has influenced key artistic movements including, Fluxus, Conceptual Art, Video Art and Feminism.
