作品详情
The subject is a story about a giant snake handed down in Tone Town, Ibaraki Prefecture. Once upon a time, when villagers were fishing for salmon on the Tone River, a boat suddenly got on a large log. He looked troubled and saw that it was a big snake. He was so surprised that he couldn't do anything other than shout “That's big!” This large snake lived in Ezouchi facing the Tone River, so it is named Ezouchi-Oji(uncle). Also, the large snake living in nearby Kannoura is called Kannoura-0ba(aunt), and it is said that these two animals are paired and were often spotted around Hanenodai, Tone Town. Tone Town, which was the setting, is a rural area facing the Tone River and the Kokai River. Since ancient times, people have made fishing and water transportation a part of their lives, and they have lived along with rivers. I myself went to the interview, and I was overwhelmed by the size of the Tone River. Since ancient times, there have been many floods in the Tone River basin, and there are many stories about water, such as there are multiple shrines that enshrine the god of water. I realized that the legend of the giant snake was born from this background.
