Born in Nagoya, Japan, Nagasaka moved to New York in 2002. In 2003 she started working as a freelance photographer and today she divides her time between commercial and creative pursuits. 愛知県名古屋市出身。２００２年にニューヨークへ渡る。２００３年からフリーランスで活動し、今日はニューヨークを拠点にコマーシャルとアートフォトグラフィー両方で活動している。 Born in Nagoya, Japan, Nagasaka moved to New York in 2002 to explore North American culture. In 2003 she started working as a freelance photographer for the Japanese cult magazine Street, and later traveled around Europe and US shooting documentary photographs. She is renowned for her honest and sensitive imagery, celebrated for her ability to capture the essence of a person who is in front of her lens. Her images are powerful and full of emotion. She has been photographing youth culture in its myriad forms for more than a decade. Known for her street casting, Fumi’s photography balances the line between street, subculture and the artifice of fashion. Today she divides her time between commercial and creative pursuits. Her photographs have appeared in magazines and fashion brand such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Dazed&Confused, AnOther, Vogue, NY Times T and others. In 2016 she has published her first book Untitled Youth by Kahl Editions, and launched her 2nd book Teenage Riot by Bywater Bros Editions in 2018. 愛知県名古屋市出身。２００２年にニューヨークへ渡る。２００３年から日本のカルチャー雑誌STREETで写真を撮り始め、２００７年からDazed&Confusedをはじめとする海外雑誌のエディトリアル、アメリカとヨーロッパを中心にドキュメンタリー作品を撮り始める。彼女の作品は正直、繊細で、カメラの前の被写体をありのままに映し出し、パワフルで感情的である。１０年以上様々な形でユースカルチャーを撮り続け、ストリートキャスティングも大切な要素であり、ストリート、サブカルチャー、そしてファッションの間での作品を撮 り続けている。 今日はニューヨークを拠点にコマーシャルとアートフォトグラフィー両方で活動している。 主なクライアントは、ルイヴィトン、ディオール、Dazed&Confused、AnOther、Vogue, NY Times Tなど。 ２０１６年に１冊目の写真集Untitled YouthをKahl Editionsから出版し、２０１８年には２冊目Teenage RiotをBywater Bros Editionsから出版。
