Work Details
A two-dimensional image connected to the retina, optical information before it is converted into an electrical signal, passes through the primary visual cortex, and undergoes a recognition process. Light as an undetermined stage where humans can biologically sense it but cannot be perceived as it is = a list of colors as an “uncertain scene.”
By dissolving simple lines and geometric repetitions drawn with water-soluble ink with water, blurring, and obscurity are added, and images with pictorial illusions such as shallow depth, fluctuation, and organicity are generated on a flat surface.
I am drawing a geometric pattern based on plane filling with regular polygons (only equilateral triangles, regular squares, and regular hexagons are possible) as the most minimalistic means to express the two dimensions itself on the screen = to make a surface appear.
The ink used for geometric drawing is only solid black, but when ink dissolved in water seeps into the support cloth, the primary colors contained in the black ink appear separated by color according to the principle of chromatography.
