Work Details

Utopia.

A painting that expresses the world of ephemeral light that sparkles in the dark, “utopia. (painting no.1)”

This work is different from the three-dimensional works that express hope flickering between light and shadow that I usually create, and was born from an impulse to release my suppressed fine senses.

This series depicts another world of shadows, derived from shining white sculptural works.

When I paint, I enjoy using various materials, such as parts from old watches and pieces of wood, as plates, and drawing inspiration from shapes that appeared by chance and composing.

As a result, white and black light and shadow are delicately harmonized, creating works that value instantaneous emotion and coincidence.

This painting expresses the beauty and transience hidden in everyday life through minute and delicate changes in shade between white and black, transience, and emotional fluctuations caused by beauty.

I hope that viewers can enjoy a sensory exchange that transcends language through this work, which surpasses reason and is drawn with no heart.
