The concept of the work
When you think about the formation of substances (natural objects, living organisms, etc.) in this world, they are made up of countless fine cells and capillaries. I think that if we make a sculpture with an “inner shape” instead of the “surface shape” we can usually see, we can give viewers the feeling that people feel when they see natural objects or living organisms, even if they are made by humans, so I am continuing to create works by accumulating and multiplying detailed parts.
This work is also created by accumulating and laminating countless iron grains using a technique called gas welding. Iron steel is melted, and iron grains that have become drops are laminated to form a linear shape, and while they are intricately intertwined, they form a three-dimensional shape with a single geometric shape.
It can be said that it is a three-dimensional work where lines are formed with dots and the lines are surfaces. All of the lines are connected, and the production method was welded so that they proliferate while imagining plant roots and blood vessels.
At first glance, the work has a simple appearance, but I think that by connecting the iron drops one by one, the viewer will be able to give the viewer the feeling of seeing life forms and plants.

I usually create sculptures and drawing using iron as a material. When I started creating my work, I wanted to create something vaguely beautiful. It is the shape of our human body, plants, and life, so-called forms created by nature. However, instead of expressing them in the form of a surface visible to the eye, when I thought about how they were formed, I felt surprised that they were shaped by countless fine cells and blood vessels, and I thought that if my works were shaped by an accumulation of countless fine things similar to those, they would give viewers the same feeling as when humans saw natural objects, so I created them. Also, the appeal of the material called iron, which I use as a material, is that it is a natural material even though it is a man-made object. I feel that it is a material that makes you feel the flow of nature, where it rusts, which is a characteristic of iron, living things and plants decay and disappear, and something will decay and disappear someday. 1993 Born in Tokyo 2018 Tama Art University Graduate School Sculpture Course Completed Awards 2024 KAIKA ART AWARD 2024 Grand Prize 2017 Hachioji Yumemi Ennale Selected 2016 52nd Kanagawa Art Exhibition Art Scholarship Society Memorial Award 2015 Selected for the 51st Kanagawa Art Exhibition solo exhibition 2020 “IMMANENCE - INSIDE-” /LOKO GALLERY (Tokyo) 2017 Tama Art University Graduate School Sculpture Outstanding Student Selection Exhibition Hana Tobari Exhibition (Gallery K/Tokyo) art fair 2022 “WHAT CAFE × DELTA EXHIBITION -TRI FOLD-” (Tennozu WHAT CAFE/Tokyo) Main group exhibitions 2024 Asyl-1- (Gallery K/Tokyo) 2022 Layer Cakes (the 5th floor/Tokyo) 2020 Drawings (LOKO GALLERY/Tokyo) 2018 Haruka no Suki no Suki ~ Touring the Iron Ring ~ Takashi Nakamura, Kenichi Kanazawa, Hana Tobari (Iina Park Kawaguchi/Saitama) 2018 Harukana Toki no Suki Till A Plus Viewing 02 ~ Ephemeral/Eternal~ (Former Tanaka Family Residence/Saitama) 2016 TamabiSelect-2- (Tama Art University Arttech Gallery/Tokyo) 2016 InternalExternal Mori Yuka Tobari Flower Exhibition (LOKO GALLERY/Tokyo)
