Title:frame of self
A "hanging scroll" that looks a little different from what we are used to seeing.
The shape of the hanging scroll, has not changed, ever since it came to Japan from China 1,500 years ago. Is the beautiful structure designed to be viewed from below in an alcove still intact?
The rules of the hanging scroll were superimposed on the environment of modern society, including gender and social attributes. However, stereotypes are something we have created ourselves. Doubt the obvious and style your own environment.
普段見慣れているものとは少し違った印象の「掛け軸」。
1500年前に中国から日本に伝わって以来、ずっと変わらない形をしている掛け軸。床の間で下から見るように設計された美しい構造は、今でも健在でしょうか?
掛け軸のルールに、性別や社会的属性など、現代社会の環境に重ね合わせた。しかし、固定観念は私たち自身が作り出したもの。当たり前のことを疑い、自分の環境をスタイリングしてみる。

Through the basis of my childhood learning Japanese calligraphy. I am aspiring to find the possibilities of calligraphy in these modern times. From Japanese calligraphy, I was most inspired by the “Kana” of the Heian period, with its original beautiful flow of words. I made a hiragana-motif accessary brand in 2015, conducting events in both foreign countries and domestically. Through this experience, I was able to learn branding and management. By designing jewelry, collaborating with the clothing brand “BEAMS”, and exhibiting at the Tokyo collection 2020 Spring/Summer, I was able to feel the demand of using Japanese words as fashion. It made it possible for me to shape calligraphy into “design” which can be worn, rather than a decoration inside the room which can be “seen”. In 2019 I moved from Tokyo to Kyoto, to countinue my work using Japanese calligraphy as contemporary art for my creation.
