Work Details
Concept and production intention of the work
The underlying theme of my work is “connection with others.” The “others” referred to here are not limited in time or region. People from the past, people from the future who will be born in the future, and people living in places so far away that they may never pass each other for the rest of their lives. The fact that I'm actually connected to people I don't have any relationships with at first glance, or rather, I'm creating something like that in the form of a work, and I think it would be nice if I could convey it to people who see the work. I think this work strongly reflects that feeling of “connection.”
The characters I draw are basically expressed as “no one exists = everyone exists.” A cloth is draped over it, and branches are sewn to that cloth with thread. Branches represent nature, and cloth represents people. The sewing needle is still attached, and the thread hangs as it is without being tied to the ball.
Thoughts put into the title
The title “Spun” has the nuance of being “spun”.
Various things, both concretely and abstractly, are woven into this work.
Production method
I'm using wooden panels. Acrylic paint and modeling paste are used for the character parts, and all are painted over with a painting knife.
About the production location (atelier)
I rent a private house close to my home and use it as an atelier.

Born in 1987 in Kobe, Hyogo. Currently living in the same city. Production activities began around 2015, and two-dimensional character paintings using pixel expressions were presented in 2021. I signed a contract with a Taiwanese gallery and have exhibited many overseas, mainly in East Asia, with that style until now. The contract was terminated in 2025. Taking that opportunity, production activities are being carried out even more vigorously.
