✔︎

Yamada Sayo graduated from Osaka University of Arts Junior College in 2019. Using silkscreen and monotype techniques, layers of paint and prints are superimposed by hand coloring. The production process emphasizes chance due to manual work, and expresses the moment when the calculated version and free coloring intersect. Major solo exhibitions include “Mont Bang” (gekilin. , Osaka, 2024), “PLAY HOUSE” (gekilin. , Osaka, 2023), etc. Participated in “ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2025,” “OSAKA ART MARKET 2024,” etc. By making full use of silkscreen and monotyping techniques, they pursue expressions where layers of paint and prints are superimposed by hand coloring, relying on serendipity. Manuscripts made by scanning drawings that have been written down on a daily basis reflect dirt etc. that have come out at that time as they are. By incorporating it into the plate, a harmony of static lines and dynamic colors is created. In this process, chance due to manual work is valued, and the moment when the calculated version and free coloring intersect are expressed. By combining precise silkscreen shapes with the one-off impression unique to monotypes, works are created that make you feel visual rhythm and layers. The edition is a kind of copy paste, This is a major appeal that tells you the best because it can be printed over and over again. An indirect expression that gives you the opportunity to think over and over again by creating and layering versions. The multiplicity of editions is also important by using the same edition for completely different works. Many of the drawings I write down on a daily basis are like small parts that mix motifs obtained from life with the author's desired life. It is a process of looking at a corner of consciousness over and over again by focusing on a corner of a notebook or a corner of consciousness where you cannot calm down unless you move your hands to complete the work. Our lives, sorrows, joys, and even letters will surely be the subject of research in the far, far future. I am making works that will be the subject of research.
