■Details of the work
※Since this work is an order, the detailed photo is an image of a separate work for the image of the frame and texture
The facility, which was built in 1967, was one of Utsunomiya's leading tourist spots, and was in ruins for over 30 years after closing. The space where the exhibition room is located is a former bathhouse, and the Peace Kannon seen from the bathhouse window preserves memories of that time.
What resonated with the power of this space was artist YOSHIROTEN, who visualizes deep insight into nature and history through digital expression. YOSHIROTTEN created this exhibition by carefully researching this characteristic space and the history of the area surrounding Oya. YOSHIROTTEN's efforts at the Oya Grand Center not only face signs of nature as an immutable entity with ancient memories, but also look at the state of “Oya Stone,” which has continued to move with the development of industry by humans.

Yoshi Nishi (a.k.a YOSHIROTTEN) was born in 1983 in the Japanese seaside city of Kagoshima. From an early age, he was deeply inspired by the spectacular landscape surrounding his hometown, including the several active volcanoes that can be found there. The region being home to much of Japanese mythology as well as the country’s only rocket launch site also contributed to Nishi developing an epic sense of imagination. His love for the light, colour and textures from the natural environment in combination with his passion for mysticism and ‘science fiction’ can now be seen throughout his work, both as a fine artist and art director.
