WORK CONCEPT =™︎ ©
The concept of this work stems from the artist’s observation and questioning of contemporary art criticism: if three different ethnic groups are placed in a single image, will critiques automatically lean toward political correctness? As a result, the painting simultaneously features three types of figures — Asian, Black, and White.

Marked by strong personal iconography, Yang Fu-An’s works may appear somewhat raw in form, yet their content strikes directly at the heart. His painting subjects often draw from online imagery, situational narratives, primal emotions, and non-mainstream phenomena. Whether through the juxtapositions within his compositions, the semantic charge of his forms, or the way he applies color, one can clearly sense his assertion of subcultural phenomena as a driving force in painting. In his everyday life, Yang refrains from observing with a beautifying gaze. Instead, his impulses, instincts, and psychological needs feed directly into the work—not as mere technical exercises, but as integral forces shaping each painting’s completion. 個展|Solo Exhibition 2025 《原核》,等號TM ©,臺北,台灣 “ RAW CORE ”, EQUALTM ©, Taipei, Taiwan グループ展|Group Exhibition 2025 《雜碎原稿展》,衛星,臺北,臺灣 “Mangasick ”, UITSHINN, Taipei, Taiwan 2024 《台灣藝術書畫冊書庫》,NUNU FINE ART,紐約,美國 “ Taiwanese Artbook Lab ”, NUNU FINE ART, New York, USA 《吉島聚人》,WAITINGROOM,臺灣 “ DIRTI ”, WAITINGROOM, Taipei, Taiwan 《夏の ZINE 祭り》,渋谷ヒカリエ 8,東京,日本 “ Zine Festival ”, Hikarie8, Tokyo, Japan 《生活破圖》,PTT SPACE,臺北,臺灣 “ Ways to Fix Broken Images ”, PTT SPACE, Taipei, Taiwan 2002 《我們的聖像》,澤藝術空間,新竹,臺灣 “Our Madonna ”, Ze Gallery, Hsinchu, Taiwan
