陶器フィギュアの技法は1940年代に、農民や、土鍋職人や陶器職人の子らに始まった。当初は農村のアートで、時の流れとともに都市近郊の住民も加わった。作者の多くが農村世界で生活し、自然と密に触れ合っていたため、動物の登場する作品が数多く生まれた。この作品は動物を擬人化している。

The art of the clay dummies is made in the decade of 1940’s, especially by farmers, pan producers’ children, potters. Therefore, it is about an art initially rural that, over the time, passes to include other types of agents, including the inhabitants of urban outskirts. The fact that its main authors live in an agrarian world, in close contact with nature, resulted in the appearance of many works that involve the presence of animals. A arte dos bonecos de barro é feita na década de 1940, sobretudo, por lavradores, filhos de paneleiras, oleiros. Trata-se, portanto, de uma arte inicialmente rural que, ao longo dos tempos, passará a incluir outros tipos de agentes, inclusive os moradores das periferias urbanas. O fato de seus principais autores viverem no mundo agrário, em estreito contato com a natureza, resultou no aparecimento de muitas obras que envolvem a presença de animais. Nesta obra, o artista humaniza os bichos.

アントニオ・ホドリゲスは1951年、ペルナンブッコ州カルアルー市アウトドモウラ村に生まれた。父ゼ・カボクロに刺激され、陶芸フィギュアの技法と芸術の手解きを受ける。最初は父親が考案したテーマをなぞり、長じて独自のスタイルを確立した。「動物会議」「黒糖工場」「陶器工場」は彼の創作。作品を弛まず作り続けることで、アウト・ド・モウラの先人達の芸術を伝えた伝統的な芸術家と認められている。現在はブラジルの各州都を巡り、手工芸品やフォークアートの見本市や展示会に作品を出品している。
