“Whispers”

When I first visited this place, the presence of a fence left a strong impression on me.
I was fascinated by the structure, which seemed to block and yet open to the other side. I was imagining what kind of pictures I could draw if I placed pictures in this space.

In recent years, I've been obsessed with the image of a “beast hiding in the depths of the forest.”

It's an area beyond the fence that's forbidden to enter — a dark, deep, deep, wood-like, or dark-like place that seems like a paradise somewhere. I want to touch something lurking beyond that, or I feel like I'm being called, and I want to step in.

I drew this work based on that impulse of being called by name and quietly drawn to them.
