Work Details

For me, production isn't about transferring images that are in my head to the screen beforehand. At the time of production, we try to let go of our plans and intentions in advance, like taking off our clothes in a dressing room. This is because I want a state where I avoid “action” and don't know what will appear.

Actually, it almost always doesn't go well, but there are moments full of excitement where “something invisible to the eye but definitely exists” is autonomously generated, and for example, it feels like “the world's spinal cord that continues to pulsate and change is image converted by MRI.” The driving force behind production is the experience of being overwhelmed and surprised by the emergence of “something invisible to the eye but definitely there.”

Actual production is an activity that encourages images to be spontaneously generated spontaneously while “uncontrollable serendipity (paper bleeding, paint flow/mixing due to gravity, changes in texture due to chemical reactions, etc.),” “selected materials and tools (panels, mediums, acrylic paints, ink, rollers, etc.) with paper attached to them,” and “body movements” influence each other.
