フィリピンの一部地域で継承されている庶民的賭博である闘鶏をモチーフにしています。現地では”SABONG”というものです。これに現代ブームのビニールフィギュアを引用して油絵彫刻を制作しました。土着的なフィリピン文化の美しさを再提言し、急成長する経済発展が及ぼす風化現象への危機意識を作品に込めました。

Filipino heritage. His art explores themes of identity, duality, and cultural fusion, often
portrayed through the iconic character ‘Banananguin,
’ a hybrid of a banana and a penguin
figure that symbolizes his personal journey of acceptance and belonging. Kondo has
exhibited his work internationally, including in Japan and the Philippines, and is committed
to engaging the global community through his creative vision.
