The work "Travelling Cypher - Set to Rise" combines multiple techniques, including acrylic paint, ink, and collage, to create a futuristic image that moves between chance and intention, rigidity and fluidity, abstraction and figuration.
Work details and techniques
The central motif is derived from the word "Cypher" in the series title, featuring a cypher machine drawn by AI and collaged with transparent film. While its appearance is mechanical, it has an animistic sense of life.
The entire work makes no use of brushes, instead employing techniques such as drips, resist effects, and indirect printmaking methods like decalcomania, filling the piece with traces of accidental reactions and their inherent energy.
The work is framed with a black frame featuring decorative reliefs, including a matte and acrylic board. The outer dimensions of the framed piece are 100 x 80.5 cm.
