The intricate Chinese fine-line painting of the Song dynasty and the free-spirited literati painting of the Yuan dynasty have always been the focal points of Yu-sheng Li 's artistic attention. Although these two styles are vastly different—Chinese fine-line painting emphasizing the rational and objective depiction of subjects, while literati painting focuses on expressing the artist's inner world—the profound humanistic and life essence embodied in both has deeply influenced Yu-sheng Li's creative trajectory, shaping his artistic approach in recent years. For Yu-sheng Li, "creation" is the act of seeking a reflection of one's inner self amidst the myriad phenomena of the world.
