Concept and Intention of the Artwork
Because we live in an age that demands ease of understanding, I intentionally chose to create images that are difficult to grasp.
The Bits and Pieces series explores the ambiguous qualities that emerge from the very process of silkscreen printing, attempting to make already uncertain images even less defined.
In this work, the CMYK base colors of printed matter are converted into systematically arranged dots and repeatedly printed in pale tones containing pearl pigments. Through this simple process, elements such as reflections from the pearl pigments, ridges created by layering, moiré effects, and slight misalignments of ink are introduced into the image. These unstable materials interact with one another, amplifying the sense of fluctuation within the work.

I was born in 1990 in Abashiri-gun, Hokkaido. I graduated from the Joshibi University of Art and Design Department Printmaking Course in 2013, and completed Joshibi University of Art and Design Graduate School (Printmaking Research Area) in 2015.
Expressions using screenprints and digital prints are incorporated into my works, and in recent years I have continued to produce and present on themes of ambiguity and sensory fluctuations.
