人類は神の領域とも言える遺伝子操作が日常的に行われる時代に到達した。 現在、国内市場に出回っている大豆のおよそ約9割は遺伝子組換え作物である。

人類は遺伝子のみならず、すでに地球の多くを変えてしまった。 19世紀の産業革命から発展した現代の科学文明社会は、結局のところ温暖化や戦争によって破滅に向かっているだけなのか。

我々は何のために生きているのか。 そのことを、遺伝子操作が日常となった世界をビジュアル化した作品を通じて考えてみたい。 生物は「より良質な種の保存」のために生きている。言い換えれば、より良い世界を目指して生きているとも言える。

さて、我々は世界がより良くなる方向を目指して動けているだろうか。

We would like to think about that through a work by visualizing the world where genetic manipulation has become a daily routine. Living organisms live for “preservation of better species.” In other words, it can be said that they are living for a better world. Now, we are moving in a direction to make the world better?
