エンゲージド・ボディ：腎臓のベルト

1970年、東京都生まれ。93年、多摩美術大学美術学部絵画学科油画専攻卒業。 Born in Tokyo, 1970. BA in oil painting, Tama Art University, 1993. 映像、写真、絵画、インスタレーション、パフォーマンスなど多様な表現を用いて、自らの実体験––恋愛、結婚、出産、子育てなど––を通したリアリティのある視点で、現代社会へのメッセージ性の高い作品を制作。近年の主なグループ展に「MOTアニュアル2005：愛と孤独、そして笑い」（東京都現代美術館、2005年）、「Global Feminisms」（ブルックリン美術館［ニューヨーク］、07年）、「Lesson 0」（国立現代美術館［果川、韓国］、17年）、「第11回恵比寿映像祭：トランスポジション 変わる術」（東京都写真美術館、19年）、「Compass - Navigating the Future」（アルス・エレクトロニカ・センター［リンツ、オーストリア］、19年）など。ニューヨークやソウル、ジョグジャカルタなど海外でのレジデンスプログラムにも参加。その作品は国内外で高く評価されてきた。ほかにも、オルタナティブ人形劇団「劇団★死期」を主宰、家族で結成したユニット「会田家」などの個性豊かなアートプロジェクトにも関わりながら、幅広い活動を行う現代美術家である。 Okada draws from her own personal experiences―love, marriage, childbirth, parenting―with a realistic viewpoint to create artworks that address strong messages towards contemporary society using various mediums such as video art, photography, painting, installation and performance. Significant group exhibitions in recent years include “MOT Annual 2005: Life Actually” (Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, 2005), “Global Feminisms” (Brooklyn Museum, New York, 2007), “Lesson 0” (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Gwacheon, Korea, 2017), “Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions: The Art of Transposition” (Tokyo Photographic Art Museum, 2019) and “Compass – Navigating the Future” (Ars Electronica Center, Linz, Austria, 2019). She has participated in residency programs abroad in places like New York, Seoul, and Yogyakarta, where her works have been highly valued in both domestic and foreign countries. In addition, she has supervised in alternative puppet theater “Gekidan★Shiki,” as well as being involved in a number of unique art projects such as forming a family unit called “AIDA Family,” and has pursued wide range of activities as a contemporary artist.
