<Story of the work>

Our soft and pitiful bodies are not strong enough to defy big currents.
We continue to be trapped in the vortex of time, but that time comes and goes over and over again, and I want to hope that we will become eternal.

“The fear of ‘not understanding anything’ makes me terrified, so I want to expose and uncover the ‘you’ standing right in front of me.”
This raw mixture of fear and desire toward genuine, life-sized communication is the root of my creative concept.
In my practice, while continuing to create works that deal with macro perspectives on society and the times, I have also begun to work on pieces that take my own extremely personal experiences and emotions as their motifs.
For example, just as both the time I spend time outside connecting with society and the time I return home to be alone in my room lost in thought are equally indispensable to me, in my creative process I feel like I’m constantly moving back and forth between micro and macro viewpoints. I feel that these different scales have recently begun to coexist naturally within me.
