Work Details
Through a surrealist lens, this artwork explores emotions of admiration, jealousy, and vulnerability, centering around the luxury wine Château Mouton Rothschild. After lunch, the figure indulges in premier Bordeaux, a cigarette in hand and a face mask on—yet, despite the luxury, there is a clear sense of discontent. Fairies float in the background, a nod to the Romantic era, blending with the realism of the fragmented still life on the table. The piece invites viewers to reflect on their own roles in fueling the tension between desire and degradation.
