Biography
Yusuke Kuriki (b 1989) is a Tokyo-based painter and mixed media artist with a half-Korean heritage. Growing up in Tokyo’s international community has profoundly impacted his artistic journey.
His work is influenced by the balance of realism and abstraction found in contemporary artists such as Colleen Barry, Ida Yukimasa, and George Rouault. He also draws inspiration from the vibrant narratives and colors of Dean Fox, Salmon Toor, Tomo Campbell, and Emma Webster.
From his Tokyo studio, Kuriki explores themes of self-identity and self-understanding, continually seeking new ways to express his perspective.
