■Artist comments

It was a residence life where I was able to reconfirm “what kind of existence I am” by being with nature.

The atelier is in the woods, so in the morning there are deer families

Dragonflies, frogs, field mice, and creatures I wouldn't normally meet came to play.

It gets completely dark at 17:00, so I'll have finished walking and production by then.

night. When I'm reading a book,

Various visitors came to the lighted house.

Like being invited by creatures that cannot be seen during the daytime, such as geckos, moths, and bats,

I also ran out of the house and walked down a completely dark street.

Wrapped in a dark curtain that was a little chilly and fluffy

While being afraid of an invisible enemy, I felt the forest with my whole body.

It felt so “unreal” and it was great.

Normally, I think about the city and people individually, but

There are no boundaries in the woods

I'm in the woods.

Even in painting, I don't draw by separating the background from myself,

I was drawing with the awareness that the background (nature) and I are the same thing in this world

Living in this residence was an opportunity for me to once again feel “nature (nature).”

Born in Osaka
The people I want to draw are fragmentary memories of the world, time, living creatures, wind, and the sea, sometimes men, women, mermaids, and birds, and they all exist everywhere while transforming their appearance like grains. We are not “bodies with souls,” but can also be called “souls with bodies.” While controlling the shape of a human being, it is a stone, soil, bone, and blood, and the numerous sedimentary layers of life (space) are probably the only generation of the “soul.”
