Artist / Urban Landscape and Public Art Researcher

Born in Hokkaido, Japan in 1944.

【1968】Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. BFA, sculpture course .

【1969】Received an award, first prize, at the 9th Contemporary Art Exhibition of Japan.

【1968-1970】Research student at the Ohtani Laboratory, Department of Urban Engineering, The
University of Tokyo.

【1970】Moved to the US, worked at David Specter Architect Office in NYC
Participated in over 70 solo and group exhibitions, including at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, with numerous catalogs featuring his work.

【Representative Works】Tokyo Subway Kiyosumi-Shirakawa Station Platform Wall: "Fossil of the 20th Century "
Tokyo Waterfront City "Twisted Hachimaki"

Since 1982, alongside creative activities, has authored books on global urban landscapes, architecture, and public art (some available in English, Chinese, and Korean editions), and has contributed to newspapers, magazines, and other publications extensively.
