映像の一瞬を切り取るように、登場人物の状況から心情までを高い画力で描き出す萩原亜美。総合芸術である映画を幼い頃から愛してきた彼女は、“絵画の中で映画を撮ろうと考えた”という。特に近年は、ストーリーボード形式に沿って画中に描かれる場面のシナリオや、登場人物のバックボーンまでも綿密に設定し制作をしている。これにより、映画のワンシーン・映像表現を彷彿とするドラマティックな描写が可能になった。

What is Sticker?
一枚の画面に描かれた情報から経緯や背景を想像させる仕掛けを施したティザービジュアル的作品の他、近年ではシネマアスペクト比の枠を羅列したストーリーボードと呼ばれる映画制作に用いられる形式に則って〈絵画の中で映画を創る〉という制作手法を取る。その背景には“虚構の中で正確な現実を描く”という目的が存在する。登場人物に環境を与え、動きを与え、人格を与え、言葉を与える。
