I'm thinking about “the way people are” centered around theatrical elements lurking in everyday life.

We are given the role of ourselves that we didn't choose from the moment we were born, and we have to play it until we die. It's the same for animals and plants, but it makes people think a lot. In order to make myself exist in a world like this big theater, I unknowingly create some kind of role, and I lose sight of the essence of myself, which is supposed to be empty.

I am also one of those who have drowned in my role and struggled. Creating roles is fun, but it's painful when you start to think “it has to be this way.” I want to be able to remember that originally, everyone was just a container for a role. Once empty, try to quietly think about what to pour out to live. I create my work while thinking about that.

While we have continued to create works that search for a way of being, centering on theatrical elements hidden in everyday life, this time, this is a new sculpture that focuses on things that any human being would believe in somewhere in their heart, such as fortune telling, jinx, amulets, and magic tricks.
