金文という古代文字の書体で書いています。発想の原点は、濃い墨で鋭い線を生かした金文の作品を書きたいという思いでした。「初」の偏と旁を思い切って上下にずらした構図にし、全体に縦に流れる作品になっています。私にとって「初心」は、少し青臭くも、まっすぐ前を向き、熱いのに冷静でひたむきな清々しいものです。墨の漆黒と白のコントラスト、そしてかすれがそれを表せたと思っています。クールなイメージに合わせた額装にしてあります。
