Work Details
This work is an abstract painting that expresses natural scenery and fragments of memories that come to mind at random moments as overlapping colors.
The blue and blue-gray colors that occupy a large area of the screen symbolize the accumulation of time felt in water, sky, mountains, and the city. It is not a depiction of the landscape in front of you; it is the color of the landscape left in your mind over time.
The pale cream yellow on the left represents the soft light remaining in time that has passed. The deep charcoal rectangle in the center indicates the serenity that sinks deep within memories and the presence of unspeakable feelings. To the red line that runs below it, I entrusted faint signs of life that remain and hopes that will lead to the future.
The many layers of color and handwriting depict how memories continue to live on in the mind while changing over time.
Color has the power to awaken the memories of each viewer. I hope this work will quietly resonate with the viewer's own past, landscape, and feelings they have almost forgotten, and create a new “color of memory” in each heart.
