Work Details
Display translates AI-generated and digital images onto transparent acrylic, questioning the boundary between screen-based reality and material presence. Shifts in color and contrast, together with the physical surface created through clear ink, produce perceptual instability between two and three dimensions.

Misato Kurimune (b. 1988, Hyogo, Japan) is a Japanese contemporary artist whose practice takes photography as a point of departure and incorporates lenticular structures, AI-based processes, and mixed media. Her work explores the relationship between vision, perception, memory, and reality through images that shift in response to the viewer’s position and bodily engagement. She investigates the act of seeing itself as a process through which images and a sense of reality come into being.Kurimune received her B.F.A. from Kyoto Seika University in 2011 and her M.F.A. in Printmaking from Kyoto Seika University in 2013.
