Work Details
手元に残っていた紙片状の写真と期限切れフィルムを使い、複写を繰り返してこれらの作品を作りました。写っている花や鏡の意味の輪郭はぼやけ、かわりに中間地帯が写っているというのは言いすぎでしょうか。フィルムカメラの撮影と暗室でのプリントは、光や薬剤のコンディションを通じて、意図しないものたちと関わることができる手段でもあります。そもそも例えば、ひとすくいの水、小枝ひとつ、誰かの吐息、足音、その音階や響きなどによって、わたしたちはいとも簡単に変えられてしまう柔らかな存在です。そして、その変容のひとつひとつを、わたしたちのことを忘れないように、写真に抱いてもらおうと思っていることも確かです。今回は、努めてそのまま眠ってしまえるような状態で制作しました。特に暗室作業は長時間の瞑想であり、数秒の露光に蝕からあらわれる太陽を見出しました。要するにわたしも変えられたのだと思います。

Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1980. Graduated from the Second Faculty of Literature at Waseda University in 2002. Approaching photography as a form of ontology, the artist takes photographs, writes poetry and texts, and creates works using these alongside materials such as stone, sand, flowers, and glass. This practice is also considered a way of questioning the value of the photograph/work as it comes into being. Received an honorable mention at the Canon New Cosmos of Photography in both 2008 and 2013. Published the photobook「石の娘」with A-press in 2013.
