Work Details
猿島のあちこちで目にする古い煉瓦で作られた建造物が印象的だった。赤い煉瓦のイメージをモチーフとした、ライトボックスの彫刻やレリーフの作品を制作することにした。
島の風景の中に、煉瓦が積まれ素朴な光を放つ様子を制作する。風景の中にある煉瓦のようでありながら、煉瓦によって形作られる風景のようなものが出来上がるといいなと思いながら手を動かしてみる。

1976年茨城県生まれ。美術家。現在、茨城県水戸市を拠点に活動。 Born in Ibaraki, 1976. Artist. Currently based in Mito, Ibaraki. 看板をモチーフとした作品をはじめ、パフォーマンス、映像、インスタレーションなど、形式を特定せず制作を展開している。2006年末より「Nadegata Instant Party」を結成し、ユニットとしても活動。2007年末より「遊戯室（中﨑 透＋遠藤 水城）」を設立し、運営に携わる。2011年よりプロジェクトFUKUSHIMA!に参加、主に美術部門のディレクションを担当。 He is a multi-media artist working with performance, video, and installation, mainly using the signboards as motifs. In 2006 he formed the unit “Nadegata Instant Party”. In 2007 he founded “PLAYROOM (Tohru Nakazaki + Mizuki Endo)”. Since 2011 he has been in charge of the artistic direction of “Project FUKUSHIMA!”
