Kosei Komatsu

Artist

Born in Japan in 1981, Kosei Komatsu is an artist who began creating works focused on natural physical phenomena as a member of the artist group "Atelier OMOYA" after graduating from the Department of Architecture at Musashino Art University in 2004 and completing his postgraduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2006. He became an independent artist in 2014.

Starting with an interest in "floating" and "birds," Komatsu currently develops works that focus on "lightness," "movement," and "light." He has exhibited his works in museums and also creates spatial productions in large commercial facilities.

In 2022, he was appointed as a specially appointed associate professor in the Department of Architecture at Musashino Art University.
