Work Details

This is a work in which second-hand goods and antiques are remade with pottery.
We aim to give mass to the image that continues to flow through the market and to preserve “floating matter” in the present day.

Artist/Ceramist

I create ceramic sculptures based on an interest in objects that have passed through circulation and consumption, continuing to exist while shifting roles in society. Using second-hand goods, antiques, and culturally loaded motifs as starting points, I transfer their forms into clay through molding and transform them through firing.

In this process, original functions and contexts are stripped away. Overlapping forms are reconfigured into structures distinct from their initial appearances, where traces of different objects coexist—ranging from natural-like forms to fragments of recognizable motifs.

Rather than representing specific objects, the works present images of things that circulate through society, shifting in value and meaning.

Focusing on irreversible transformation through firing, I explore how images and concepts become fixed as matter, inviting viewers to imagine the formation, transformation, and underlying structures of objects in society.
