Work Details
稲田早紀（1988年生まれ、大阪在住）は京都市立芸術大学で油画を学んだ。当時は摘んだ草花を燃やしその灰を使って作品制作していたという。次第に繊細な作風へと変わり、鉛筆とアクリル絵具を薄く塗り重ねていく手法で制作するようになる。近年は、土や根といったモチーフにより焦点が当てられており、草花の命の根源へより深く掘り下げようとする意識の変化がうかがえる。草花への造形的な好奇心と古来より日本人に受け継がれてきた自然への崇拝や感謝の念、祈りが混じり合うような、独自の世界観をぜひ体感してもらいたい。

What is Sticker?
草花の姿を、鉛筆とアクリル絵の具をうすく重ねることで描いています。私にとって身近に生える草花に触れる行為は、祈ることやお守りを作ることと似ています。それは邪気を払うために植物を使い、自然を神様として信仰する日本古来の感覚とつながっているのかもしれません。ひとりひとりの小さな神さまの姿を写し取るように、造形の美しさやその瞬間の間合いの感覚を拾い上げていくことを意識しています。
