このシリーズは、現代の日本画家の多くが、日本画の定義について話す時に、素材の美しさや尊さを定義の一つとして話すことが多いという所に疑問を持つ所から始まりました。
素材そのものの美しさのみを、活動のコンセプトの中心に据えるのは、表層的と言えます。
しかし、その表層的なコンセプトを元にして表現したこのシリーズ作品は美しくもあり、ミニマルで普遍性すら感じます。
このシリーズでは、そのアンビバレントな日本画の世界を通して、新たな日本人の絵画の在り方を表現できればと思っています。

Born in Hiroshima in 1982.
Completed the doctoral course at Hiroshima City University.
Studied traditional Japanese painting methods at university, and his graduation work was purchased as the first prize winner of the same university.
After graduation, won the runner-up prize in the "Debut" public exhibition sponsored by Gekkan Bijutsu.
He creates works on the theme of Japan's climate and religious views, incorporating elements considered characteristic of manga, video games, and anime into his works.
His activities have expanded both domestically and internationally, and in recent years he has been involved in a wide range of activities, including the launch of the fashion brand "awesome young" with media artist Yoichi Ochiai and designer Shinya Kushino.
His works are in the collections of Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts, Hiroshima City University, and Ryuinan, the pagoda of Engakuji Temple.
