作品のコンセプト・制作意図
口で作る彫刻。
呪詛や願いのような呼気と、口に咥えたヘラを使うという不自由さ。
素材の紙粘土の材料には破砕した手紙などを一部使用。
骨の形態は性別、人種、国籍、職業、属性などを匿名性にするためであり、この２体の骨の関係性もまた匿名である。
ある種の権威性を帯びる彫刻というメディアに対し、周縁化されるものに最後まで残される尊厳や存在そのものを可視化すること、
また、拘束・制限のある身体を用いて抗いながら制作を行い、制作過程そのものに意味を持たせることを目的とし制作を続ける。
作品のタイトルは、かつてベネチアビエンナーレで「同性愛を連想させる」として出展拒否をされたとある作品に因む。

この作品で表現したかったこと
拘束され制限された身体を用い、彫刻という権威を帯びた媒体に応答しつつ、末端に追いやられた者たちの最後まで残る尊厳と存在そのものを可視化するために抵抗する作品を創る。
さらに、自身もバイセクシュアルであることから、周縁化された属性そのものの存在を捉える可能性を探求した。骨は全ての人間に共通する部分であり、その形態は人種・性別・国籍・障害・属性などを包含する匿名的なものである。
これはあらゆる周縁化された存在のための肖像彫刻である。
制作手法や使用している道具
手紙を素材にした紙粘土、胡粉、骨の粉、ジェッソ、香油、その他
見藤のオリジナル技法にて制作、口に加えたヘラと、呼気によって作成
作品やタイトルに込めた想い
タイトルはかつてベネチアビエンナーレで「女性同士の同性愛を思わせる」として出展拒否をされそうになった作品から引用しています

Contenporary Artist
Motoko Mitō is a contemporary artist based in Kyushu. Her work has consistently focused on confronting pain and exploring memory and deterioration. She engages with social issues—including interdisciplinary approaches centered on art, archival preservation, regional challenges, gender, disability, social education, disaster recovery, and biodiversity—through her art practice.
Furthermore, drawing on her professional experience as a cultural property conservation technician and curator, as well as her practical involvement in cultural property preservation and participation in cultural property rescue efforts in disaster-stricken areas, she continues her activities by dedicating her life and time to “social sculpture”—a practice focused on the preservation of artworks and the transmission of memory in the contemporary era through works centered on the themes of “preservation” and “restoration,” while also addressing marginalized memories, individuals, and social issues.
