Work Details

Production has continued while expanding the image to explore the shape of the human mind. In this work, friendly impressions such as cuteness and beauty coexist, and at the same time, elements that make you feel somewhat fearful and creepy. This way of being where opposing senses overlap within a single existence appears as a different impression depending on the viewer and the timing when they face the work.
Comment from Shikisaisha
Makiko Horiuchi's work is an attempt to remove the tension and fluctuations brought about by “encounters with foreign objects” as modeling. While this tension is fraught with danger, it has the potential to create new perspectives, values, and relationships. I hope this exhibition will be an opportunity for each viewer to quietly re-examine the distance between themselves and others through time to face the work.
