Work Details

Concept and Intention of the Artwork

This work is an attempt to re-examine the form of a teacup from the level of material and structure.
After molding, it is intentionally dismantled at the stage before unglazing, applying different glaze and firing to each fragment, and then reconstructed again as a single vessel.
Seams are not ornaments, but rather “structural traces” showing layers of time and action experienced by the material.
Distortions and fluctuations harbor humanity left by the action of hands, and present a new form of a teacup containing destruction, regeneration, and relationships between fragments and the whole
