Work Details
They use trees that have fallen due to typhoons, wood products that have finished their role, and even trees discarded due to knots, holes, and insect eating, etc., which are generally regarded as defects in wood. My work is based on the theme of carving out “tree spirits” and their “omokage(afterimage)” even though they have ended their role as wood products.

1982年生まれ。私は”おもかげ”をテーマに木彫制作をしている。
像シリーズにおいては様々な木を材料としており、台風で倒れた樹木や、伐採されたもの、あるいは廃棄される家具などである。さらには、木材として節や割れ、ヤニ、虫食いなどで廃棄されたものである。それら木材としては通常欠点とされる部位を個性と捉えなおし、活用している。
