Work Details
■作品コンセプト
無数の金属の筒が、天井から静かに吊り下がっている。
重力に導かれ、光を纏い、空間を変える。一本一本がわずかに揺れながら、他の筒と干渉し、触れ合い、ときにかすかな音を鳴らす。金属が奏でるその微細な音は、風に揺れる葉のようでもあり、どこかで聞いたことのあるような、記憶の底をくすぐるような響きをもつ。
かつて工場でこの鉄パイプが奏でていた音は、全く異なるスケール・スピードで繊細に蘇る。
長さ120mm前後、直径19mmの鉄パイプ。その表面には、来場者や照明、周囲の壁までもが映り込む。中空のパイプは、空気や音を通し、空間の“気配”までも透過させる。それは単なる物体の集合ではなく、空間そのものを感じ取るセンサーであり、媒介である。
足を踏み入れることで気流が変わり、筒がわずかに揺れ、音と反射が応える。鑑賞者の存在や動作そのものが、作品の一部になる。空間と物質と人の関係が、その都度変化していく様を体感できる、五感を通した装置である。
